About Us
UPDATE-JULY 26
The COURT: Having passed all inspections, we now have the permanent Certificate of Occupancy for THE COURT! The construction is completed and all that remains is to furnish this facility so that it can be used for recreation and worship.
FURNISHING: The next step toward making this facility usable is to outfit it with equipment and systems that will allow us to hold worship services in it. The two largest systems - Lighting and Sound - are being mostly funded by the bond issue. Until the bonds sell, we will not be able to complete the installation of these systems (although we have paid cash already for some lighting and sound equipment and wiring installation). What we CAN do while waiting on the bond issue is pray that our JEHOVAH JIREH offering (August 15) will bring in sufficient donations to pay off the chairs, the staging, the remaining landscaping needs, and some furnishings. We are trusting God to supply through the faith-filled, sacrificial giving of HIS people.
BONDS: We are anxiously awaiting news from the bond company regarding the issue date of our bonds. We had originally planned to begin issuing the bonds on August 15, however a delay in permits from the city and county have moved that date back a few weeks. We submitted the approved permits to the bond company last week and expect to have a revised issue date soon. Stay tuned!
UPDATE-JULY 21
The COURT: We should have a temporary Certificate of Occupancy by Thursday (July 22) of this week! The Fire Marshall walked through the building today and has asked that we do a few minor adjustments to our fire safety systems. The front ‘welcome desk’ has been modified to be handicap-accessible. The gym floor has been installed and the lines for the basketball and volleyball courts have been painted. The touch-up painting should be completed by Thursday (July 22). So....by this Sunday, July 25, we should be finished with the construction!!! God has been so good to send Richard Fisher our way. His attention to detail and his commitment to getting things done in an excellent way is something that should be praised. So – THANK YOU RICHARD!
CHAIRS: We had placed the order for the new chairs almost two months ago. We had to do this because it takes 6-9 weeks to construct the chairs once the order is placed. We asked the company to delay the delivery of the chairs for as long as possible to allow us time to come up with the money for them. The company called last week and said they could not delay the delivery any longer – so on this past Monday a group of brave, strong, (and now sore!) volunteers unloaded 16,000 lbs of chairs into the new building. We have 45 days to pay for them. The due date on the bill falls AFTER the Jehovah Jireh offering (August 15), and we believe that members and friends of King’s Way will trust God with a sacrificial gift on or before that day. Our goal for the August 15th offering is $150,000. Please pray that God will allow us to reach this goal. The total cost for the chairs is $33,922. We would also like to be able to build our own chair carts that will be used to set up and store the chairs in a much more efficient way than we do now. The cost for the chair carts is about $9,000.
THANK YOU to the following people who helped unload the chairs and take off the shrink wrapping from each stack: Debbie Blue, Jake Bolon, Tim Bolon, Tom Charney, Russell Clayton, Daniel Hill, Dana Holshouser, Bobby Johnson, Michael Landrum, Randy Price, Dan Ragle, Kymberlyn Reed-Smith, David Snow, Amy Whitaker, Jeremy Whitaker, and Nita Whitaker.
UPDATE-July 14
We are steadily moving toward completion of construction of THE COURT! The gym floor is being installed this week and the final inspections are being done. As funds are available, we will be finishing the landscaping in front of the rock wall and by the steps. The building inspector has requested that we make all ‘counter-top’ areas handicap-accessible, so that work should also be completed within one week.
Once the construction is completed, we will focus our efforts toward FURNISHING GOD’S HOUSE. These ‘furnishings’ will include audio/video systems, lighting systems, wall corner protectors, chairs, staging, paper supplies, large-screen tvs (in the lobby and lounge areas), some wall decoration, and some furniture.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Pray that the city and county will approve the submitted plans for the KEEP Annex building. We have submitted the plans, but have not yet received approval. This is holding up our bond issue process and has caused the bond issue to date to be pushed back. Also pray that God will show favor to us and allow us to meet our Jehovah Jireh Offering goal of $150,000.

BUILDING UPDATE: Thanks to all the volunteers who helped clean up the facilities, decorate, and spread mulch on last Saturday! We will have more opportunities (such as installing additional landscaping, mulch, and a final cleaning of the building) that we, as volunteers, will be able to participate in. Please stay tuned for when and where! The construction on the building is progressing well. The next major item will be the installation of the gym flooring which is scheduled to start the week of July 12. This week, there is some finish painting and finish electrical work that is being done. We have also been able to afford some of the initial infrastructure on the Audio/Video/Lighting system (which is, of course, part of the ‘furnishing’ of the building). Once we receive the Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.), our next job will be to outfit the Court to make it usable for worship services. We are focusing our annual Jehovah Jireh offering for the purpose of outfitting the Court.
FURNISHING THE COURT: There are some bond funds that will be designated to pay for large-ticket structural items such as Audio/Video/Lighting infrastructure, phone and security systems, and some staging items. However, we would like to pay cash for as much as possible for the remaining furnishings. We have therefore set a goal to raise $150,000 by August 15 in order to pay for items that will make the building functional. Some of the items that are not included in the cost of construction the building (and that will not be covered by the bonds) are: Chairs, Portable Staging, some Audio items, some Video items, some Lighting system items (like the dimmable audience lights we have in the Keep), Basketballs, Volleyballs, Volleyball Nets, Shower Curtains (for the two locker-room showers), lobby furniture, plexiglass shield for the praise band, wall decorations, signage (some of this was included in the construction costs – but not all), restroom paper goods, rolling carts for the chairs, large-screen tvs for the lobby, vending machines (low priority), wireless internet, external speakers for the canopy columns, storage cabinets, first aid supplies, and marketing - to let the community know we have room for them to join what God is doing at King’s Way. Since we announced this goal of $150,000 – we have had a little over $7,000 come in – so we’re now at $143,000 to go!!!
JEHOVAH JIREH 2010: With the obvious need to furnish the Court as soon as possible, we have decided that 2010’s Jehovah Jireh offering will be used for this purpose and will be EARLIER than we usually receive it. This year, the Jehovah Jireh offering will occur on AUGUST 15! We are praying that $150,000 will come in by this date (as mentioned above). Please pray that God would give you guidance into what you and your family will contribute toward this once-a-year event.
UPDATE-June 28
Things are rapidly moving on our new building, "The Court." Last week the parking lots were completed and the canopy on the front of the building was finished. Over the next couple of weeks, the interior will move toward completion, security cameras will be installed, and the initial work begins on the cabling for the audio system.
As we discussed on Sunday, WE HAVE SET A GOAL TO RAISE $150,000 by AUGUST 15 toward non-construction related items (chairs, Audio/Video/Lighting, staging, phone system, etc.) THIS IS OUR JEHOVAH JIREH OFFERING for 2010. So far we have raised $4,300 toward that number – so the countdown begins! Only $145,700 to go!
Please pray about what you can do to partner with us for this goal. We would like to move into the building as soon as possible. And these funds are vital to the building functioning as a worship space. You may give online through our secure online giving site:https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanced/default.aspx?wid=30635
